World War Z, starring Brad Pitt, is inspired by Max Brooks’ novel which depicts the worldwide Zombie War. The movie hit the big screens in 2013, and it was followed by the bad press at the time. For that reason, the sequel that was planned after the release of the first movie faced numerous problems when it comes to its production. Its release was at one point scheduled for 2017 but eventually was canceled.
The shooting was supposed to start in autumn, but it was delayed twice: when Brad Pitt had to shoot for Quentin Tarantino and due to Fincher’s work on Mindhunter season two. This means that the movie will enter the production process this year most likely, so the fans can look forward to it in 2022 the earliest.
World War Z 2 cast: Who’s in it?
As many fans have been wondering, Brad Pitt is in all probability reprising his role of a fearless UN investigator Gerry Lane. Also, Mireille Enos agreed to return as Karin Lane, the investigator’s wife. When it comes to other cast members from 2016, there haven’t been any new reports.
World War Z 2 director: Who’s making it?
The sequel of the movie will not have Marc Foster as the director. Most likely, the director’s chair will be taken over by David Fincher. This has been speculated for quite some time now, however, it still hasn’t been confirmed due to Fincher’s work on Netflix’s series Mindhunter.
World War Z 2 plot: What’s it going to be about?
Even though the movie is based on a book by writer Max Brooks, it scarcely had any touch points with the novel. This makes it difficult to predict the plot of the sequel.
“A lot of stones have been laid,” commented David Fincher in November 2017. “We’re just deconstructing it right now against the mythology that exists to see where we can go.”
