There is no official confirmation, but IMDb list Suicide Squad sequel as 2019 release, without an actual release date. It is rumored that film is being delayed due the Harley Quinn spin-off Birds Of Prey.

We definitely know that Will Smith and Margot Robbie are playing their roles, Deadshot and Harley Quinn, and it is also expected for Jared Leto to take the part of The Joker. We also think that Joel Kinnaman will reprise his role as government agent Rick Flag.

We still know nothing about Karen Fukuhara (Katana), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Killer Croc) or Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), but we surely know that villain Enchantress, played by Cara Delevingne, will not be back.

Rumour has it that Jay Hernandez could come back as El Diablo and that Viola Davis as Amanda Waller too. Another news is that Dwayne Johnson could make his debut as Shazam villain Black Adam.

Sad to say, but we don’t know anything about the plot at the moment, but we can make some educated guesses.

The plot will probably follow the basic outline as Amanda Waller sends her team on a mission, and there is only a slim chance that they will come back alive.

We hope that Joker’s role will actually have a meaningful impact on the plot.

Warner Bros should definitely let villains fight a superhero, rather than another villain, but we will see it all soon.

The thing we know for sure is that the director of the Suicide Squad, David Ayer, won’t be back for Suicide Squad 2. There were some people rumored to direct the film, but Warner Bros eventually decided that Gavin O’Connor is set to write and direct the sequel. He is best known for working on The Accountant starring Ben Affleck, and other films like Warrior and Jane Got A Gun.

When can we see a trailer?

The film will probably be shoot later this year, so we can expect a trailer at the beginning of 2019.
