That turned out to be a good decision since Avatar made over 75 million dollars during the first weekend alone. That tells you just how big this release was.

The budget for it was huge, they had to use 379 million dollars to make it come alive, but they made much more, which is of course what triggered the making of four other parts of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
