All anime lovers are going to be pleased when they hear that they are going to be able to watch the best anime shows on Netflix in 2019. Netflix collected some of the best anime TV series from the past, but it also managed to gather some brand-new anime series.

There’s a possibility that you won’t know what to watch first, so we made a list of the best and the most interesting anime’s that are coming to Netflix this year.

Seis Manos

Netflix was satisfied with the success of Powerhouse Animation Studios with the Castlevania series, so they gave them an opportunity with another series, Seis Manos.
The story is about three orphans from a border town in Mexico, that become martial arts masters. They team up with a Mexican Federale and a DEA agent to avenge the death of their master. They try to clean up the streets from criminals.

The team behind this anime is a team of some pretty popular people, Alvaro Rodriguez, known for writing Machete, Dan Dominguez, known for writing Spongebob Squarepants, and the director will be Willis Bullines, from Castlevania.
The only public image from this new anime is just the show’s logo. The release date is unknown, but it will begin sometime in 2019.

Trese

This one is about a woman, named Alexandra Trese, who is trying to fight horrifying criminal creatures. The interesting part is that the creatures are from Philippine folklore. They are living and hiding among the humans of Manila, and Trese is trying to fight them.

The anime is based on a graphic novel, called Trese. The executive producer of this show is Jay Oliva, who worked as a storyboard artist for Thor: Ragnarok and Wonder Woman.
It is said that Trese will air at the end of 2019, but there’s a possibility that it will air at the start of 2022.

Yasuke

This anime has a historical story behind it, a story about Yasuke. Yasuke was a slave, who came to Japan with Alessandro Balignano, in the 1580s. Alessandro came to Japan to spread Christianity. Yasuke was black, and at that time that was very interesting for Japanese people. They were so interested, that they traveled long distances to visit places where Alessandro was, only to see Yasuke. One of the people who traveled to see Yasuke, was Daimyo, Lord Oda Nobunaga. After sometime Daimyo took Yasuke into his service and named him a samurai.

In this Netflix series, Yasuke is placed in a world filled with magic, in a war-torn version of feudal Japan. Yasuke’s main task is to protect a strange child who is a target of some evil forces.

A star from Straight Outta Compton, Lakeith Stanfield is going to give the voice to Yasuke. And the music will be composed by a rapper Flying Lotus.

There is no official release date, but it is assumed that it will air at the end of 2019.

Cannon Busters

Making this anime was a dream for LeSean Thomas, who even organized a Kickstarter campaign, to raise money for the series. The campaign managed to raise over $150,000. And the story follows escapades of S.A.M., a droid who is programmed for friendship, a maintenance robot, and a fugitive from justice. They all search for Prince Toji, S.A.M.’s friend. Prince Toji is the heir to a kingdom which is under siege by destructive forces.
The first season will have twelve episodes and it is going to air on April 1, 2019.

Carole & Tuesday

This anime is animated by studio BONES, and the director is Shinichiro Watanabe, the director of Cowboy Bebop.
The story is placed 50 years in the future, where humans started migrating to Mars. The main creators of culture are robots with artificial intelligence. But there are two girls, that want more than that. Carol is a hard working girl, that wants to become a musician, and Tuesday, a rich girl that would like to play the guitar and sing. The two of them meet and they decide to make a revolution.

The main thing in the series is the cultural revolution, mostly based on music, so the music will have an enormous role in the story. The Canadian artist Mocky composed the music for the anime.

The show will air on Netflix in April 2019.

Rilakkuma & Kaoru

This is a stop-motion anime series developed by San-X. The main character is a young woman Kaoru, who one day discovers that a toy bear named Rilakkuma moved into her apartment. Alongside Rilakkuma, a pet bird Kiiroitori and a small bear cub Korilakkuma also moved into the apartment. They hang around together in the apartment, relaxing and eating yummy food.

The leading stop-motion studio in Japan, Dwarf is responsible for animating this show. The screenwriter is Naoko Ogigami, and the series director is Masahito Kobayashi.

The show airs on April 19, 2019.
