Third season of Sword Art Online is on-going and fans are pretty much pleased with it. Although Kirito is in the best form so far, it is not all good. Fans aren’t very happy about the key shake-up, and creator of the series wants to let them know he is aware of that.

Here’s the brief telling for those who aren’t familiar with the whole Sword Art Online story: its newest episode, called Aliciyation, caused major drama. Why? Mainly because there was an important lapse. Also, it did the update introduce a lengthy time skip. But lets go back to that lapse. Volume 10, chapter 3 of the light novels was glossed over in the show. And it was done without an explanation, until recently, when Reki Kewahara made a post.
He took it to Twitter to post a message in which he apologized to fans regarding omission.

His post read: „I’m sorry that the Zakkaria Arc was handled through flashback only, but it is necessary to be selective with episodes even though the season is 4 cours as there are 10 books. I think 2 books per cour is the limit if you want to do the adaptation faithfully, but I think Zakkaria was the biggest cut.“

Even though episode was supposed to scan the whole chapter, Sword Art Online did hint at the Zakkaria Sword Arts Tournament. Characters such as Charlotte were not meantioned although certain part of event were shown as a montage. Creator Kawahara hopes that fans will be more patient and understanding with other things that are about to happen in on-going season.

Let us know in the comments bellow if you were upset by omission.

Sword Art Online: Alicization is currently steaming on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll. This is an official description of the series: „Before he knows it, Kirito has made a full-dive into an epis, fantasy-like virtual world. With only a murky recollection of what happened right before he logged in, he starts to wander around, searching for clues. He comes upon an enormous, pitch dark tree (the Gigas Cedar), where he encounters a boy. As Kirito bonds with Eugeo, he continues to search for a way to log out of this world. Meanwhile, he remembers a certain memory deep down within him. He remembers racing through the mountains with Eugeo as a child… A memory that he should not have in the first place… And in this memory, he sees someone other than Eugeo, a young blond girl. Her name is Alice. And it is a name that must never be forgotten.“
